Torcal

Known for the whimsical shapes that erosive forces (such as water and wind) have carved into the limestone rocks, el Torcal de Antequera is a millions of years old natural landscape. It was recognized in the early 20th century as Andalusia’s first Protected Natural Area of National Interest, and a decade ago it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Dominated by the brown and gray tones of its karst landscape, El Torcal has served as inspiration for one of the brownest shades in the Tierra collection, made from clay fired at high temperatures and full of the chalky nuances of this unique environment.
