Casa Dolores, rustic design with character in El Borge
ocated in the Axarquia region of Malaga, this rural house has been renovated to give life to the villages through architecture.
In design and decoration sometimes everything falls into place frmo the get go. And when this happens it is simply wonderful. This is what happened with Casa Dolores, located in the town of El Borge, in the interior of the province of Malaga. This house has been renovated with a beautiful goal: to bring life back to the villages through architecture and design. And the space, as you can see in the pictures, meets its goal with flying colors.
Rustic design with character
Every detail of this house is designed to reconnect with the essence itself, to recover what always and what defines us: our roots. To reinforce this character that Casa Dolores already had, the design project uses todobarro’s Ladrillo Rústico 25×12. Our tiles provide that rustic and natural touch that is combined in the living room with other typical elements of rural Andalusia. The texture of its stone wall, a restored bulrush chair and other materials are some of the details that combine perfectly in this environment.
The tone chosen for this clay floor is the ‘flamed straw’ shade, undoubtedly another of the successes of this project. With a straw-yellow main base, this material changes naturally, randomly deriving in orange, pinkish and greenish hues. This process gives it a worn appearance that fits perfectly with the natural environment in which it is found, which is pure nature.
In this way, its authenticity is highlighted, reinforced in turn by multiple details that take us back in time. This is achieved without losing sight of the functionality of the contemporary, as it is equipped with the comforts for a modern lifestyle.
The straw color offers ample possibilities, it is possible to maintain a neutral color as in this project or intensify it with the wet effect that is achieved after proper cleaning and protection. The ease of care of this rustic brick is another feature that stands out in this clay floor.
Enjoying this refuge in the Axarquia in Malaga and the privileged environment in which it is located is possible, since you can make reservations to stay at Casa Dolores through the Airbnb portal. A great opportunity to relax at any time of the year -it has an outdoor pool- and to approach a slow lifestyle leaving out the rush.
