Casa LLO: a thousand views of the Madrid mountains
The relationship with the surrounding landscape is the most striking feature of this beautiful project in Valdemorillo, in the province of Madrid.
A project that lets you experience the mountains of Madrid as if every hour were different? Welcome to Casa LLO. The challenge posed by the architectural firm OOIIO couldn’t be more daunting or appealing. But it is only from such innovative projects that excellence of the caliber we are now presenting to you can emerge.
Casa LLO: endless views of the mountains
Making the most of the mountain landscape from a family home on a curved street was the main goal of a project in which, naturally, harmony with the surroundings was key. The idea, they explained, was that of a mill revolving around a double-height core that connects its two floors via the staircase. In this way, depending on the light, the time of day, or the season, the house never looks the same—not even from the inside.
The interior design work has been equally meticulous, featuring an expressive selection of forms and materials, creating a warmth unique to a family home.
The concept, they explained, was that of a mill revolving around a double-height core that connects the two floors via the staircase.
Meanwhile, the exterior design is softened by clay elements in reddish and grayish tones, like the terrain surrounding the house, which contrasts with the green and wood of the garden’s trees. The studio itself provides a detailed account of the project and its entire narrative in this article published on Archello.
For todobarro, what can we say, it was an honor that they chose two of our products. On the one hand, Rombo Octo 20, a stylized format from our rhombus family, ideal for creating monochromatic tessellations or for combining different shades. And, on the other hand, Rectángulo 30×15, another of our most distinctive products, which is particularly attractive when combined with the Antique texture and the right choice of shades. In this case, the chosen finish was straw for the various spaces—such as the stairs—and walls of the house.
