An “archipelago hotel” on a Greek island: introducing Casa Cook Samos
Meet Casa Cook on this Greek island, a hotel made up of “islands” in the form of pools, where you can relax overlooking the Aegean Sea
A hotel made up of “islands” on a Greek island: that’s Casa Cook Samos. Like a set of Russian nesting dolls, this hotel on the island of Samos features a unique architectural design where water takes center stage. The Aegean Sea surrounds Samos, as do its breathtaking views. But this hotel, in turn, is flanked by a string of tiny islands that give the impression of being in the middle of the sea. Just like ancient Greek villages.
Designed by the Block722 studio, the result is visually striking even in photos alone. The secret to creating this perception lies in its pools, which serve as the center of each small “neighborhood.” An experience that blends with the past, yet fully immerses you—as a guest—in the present. Dive in, connect with nature, yet enjoy the tranquility and comfort of the rooms. Few places in the world exist where one can sleep almost floating on the water, gazing at the sky, on a mattress with every possible comfort. While the concept takes you back in time, the contrast lies here: in the luxury of rest.
Harmony between nature and clay
Reaching this pinnacle is not merely an architectural matter. The interior design is the work of Greek architect Vasilis Nikos, who made sure that the textures and earthy colors of the place were dran from the local landscape and its organic elements. The hues that bathe the aquatic space are soothing to the eye. Another key element, the abundant vegetation, echoes the island’s fertile landscape with palm trees, pines, agave, and wild olive trees.
On the other hand, the countless waterfalls and rivers that make up the island are reflected on the pools of water which give the place its characteristic blue hue. The materials become protagonists through the natural, unrefined tones of local leather, wood, and stone that blend together. Here, more contemporary elements, such as smooth terrazzo, appear to create a modern, luxurious space that remains an ode to the land’s roots.
To get here, Casa Cook Samos has utilized various materials, including our Medio Ladrillo 25x6x3 proportions in the Slate color. Sourced from the Axarquía region of Málaga, this material contributes, through its rustic character, the classic tone that ultimately synthesizes all the characteristics that define the space.
Bespoke sanctuaries
One of the key aspects that makes Casa Cook Samos a unique place is the fact that its rooms feel like bespoke sanctuaries. From classic doubles to a private villa, they are modern and minimalist. Spiritual. Decorated with earthy tones and handmade natural elements that create an atmosphere of modern luxury with that deeply authentic Greek touch. Each room has been designed to meet different needs, whether it’s space, privacy, or being just a few steps from the bathroom. A hotel of “islands,” also in concept, on a wonderful Greek island: that’s Casa Cook Samos.
