Rectangular tiles for rustic floors
Rectangular terracotta tiles are a highly versatile format which can be used on both walls and
floors alike. They can be easily combined with other tile types of equal length, such as square
tiles, for example.
These tiles boast highly stylized proportions which are perfectly suited to larger spaces and
outdoor areas, although not exclusively so. They can adapt to any environment.
Here at todobarro, we produce each piece by hand using an artisanal style of production.
The process begins with an initial design stage which draws influence both from tradition and
the avant-garde. Once the pieces have been designed, they are handcrafted by a master
craftsman who molds the clay before then leaving it to air-dry naturally.
Commitment to the environment
Once the rectangular tiles have dried, they are then fired in our traditional Arabic oven.
Sustainability is key in our project, which is why we use an entirely natural material which is
extracted without causing any damage to the environment. In the production process, we use
biofuels which are produced from the discarded cuttings of local plantations (avocado and
olives) and from olive pits. When packaging our products, we do not use any plastic
whatsoever. Instead, we use recycled cardboard and wooden pallets which can be returned
and reused. Our commitment to becoming an entirely green company is firm and unwavering.
When it comes to the finish on our rectangular tiles, the artisanal process gives the tiles an
Antique texture which really makes them stand out. Far from producing identical pieces, each
one has its own distinct shade, yet always within the same chromatic range, which can be
selected from various options ranging from pizarra (slate) to salmón (salmon), not to mention
blanco antiguo (antique white).
