Biodiversity island
Island of Alboranic biodiversity
At todobarro’s blog you’ll find pieces about our island of Alboranic biodiversity: an experimental model of environmental sustainability, developed theoretically at the University of Málaga, and put to the test on todobarro’s farm.
Our determination to leave a positive ecological impact led us to question what could we do to improve the health of our local ecosystem.
We ended up finding the answer on this experimental model of Alboranic biodiversity, which we started to put into practice in the Spring of 2021.
At todobarro, we keep an unbreakable commitment to the environment, the fauna and flora around us. We deem the task of educating our public about this model very important for several reasons:
- Because it is one of a kind. Todobarro is the first entity in the world, public or private, to test this theoretical model.
- Because we preach corporate sustainability and we practice it too.
Getting a productive activity to leave a positive impact on its environment is possible when there are resources, creativity and corporate will put to it.
The island is an example of this, which is why our blog covers and will continue to cover the latest news regarding the development of this project and all the parties involved in its design, care and maintenance.
An eco-shop for todobarro’s handmade tiles
Thanks to the planting of native species in specific proportions and conditions, the tile shop where we make our terracotta tiles becomes an eco-friendly tile shop.
Our vision is, and always has been, to build a space that is integrated with the environment, where we can carry out our craft in harmony with the agricultural and natural setting in which we are located.
The Alboran biodiversity island, among many other features that we describe in our articles, provides a recovery environment and refuge for native fauna and flora.
