We are visited by the Interior Design students of the San Telmo School of Art (Málaga)
We welcomed to our showroom the students of the training program in Interior Design and Project Management from the San Telmo School of Art in Málaga. During their visit to our office-showroom, they had the opportunity to learn in depth about the artisanal fabrication process behind our fired clay products and their many applications in interior design.
The San Telmo School of Art is an iconic institution, both in Spain’s public education system and in the national arts scene. Its Interior Design program prepares students to plan, manage, coordinate, and lead interior design projects, tackling functional, aesthetic, and technical solutions.
The comprehensive education the students receive—which includes a strong emphasis on material quality control—is enhanced through internships at companies in the sector, such as ours. This helps facilitate job placement and direct engagement with the professional environment.
Strengthening ties with the student community and young talent
This is not the first (nor will it be the last) time we host students at our facilities, whether they come from programs in construction, interior design, architecture, or design…
During the visit, san telmo students were welcomed by our colleagues Alejandro Valera, Andrea Jiménez, and David Vergara. They guided the students through the facilities and explained how clay, when worked using traditional methods, becomes a sustainable and versatile option for wall and floor coverings.
They also explored a variety of our samples and projects, gaining insight into the creative and functional potential of the materials we work with. this, in particular, was what truly captured the attention of most of our guests, as they saw firsthand how such artisanal work is valued and used in interior design projects by highly renowned brands.
The visit allowed students to engage with a hands-on approach to interior design, broadening their perspective on using natural materials in contemporary design. in addition, the faculty showed strong interest in our business project, reinforcing their enthusiasm to establish future collaborations—whether for internships or for coordinated academic projects evaluated by the todobarro team.
At todobarro, we do our best to foster relationships and build bridges with new generations of young professionals. we are very aware that the future of a sector as unique as ours—which pushes forward with technical innovation and research but is rooted in artisanal practices—depends on passing down knowledge from one generation to the next.
