The Fundación Juan March invites Pedro Rosa to participate in a conversation about Neocraftsmanship for its “Arts and Crafts” cycle
The Fundación will take a deep dive with our CEO into todobarro's approach to craftsmanship within the modern industrial context, in a roundtable called "todobarro, a neo-artisanal interpretation of terracotta".
The Fundación Juan March is a renowned institution that has been dedicated to promoting cultural offer and quality in our country for over seventy years. It oversees several venues, museums, and libraries where cultural programs of all kinds are held, as well as events such as the one to which the CEO of todobarro, Pedro Rosa, has been invited in Palma de Mallorca.
Pedro has been kindly invited to participate in an open interview at the Fundación’s headquarters in Palma on Monday, May 25, at 6:00 p.m. The conversation will be part of “Arts and Crafts,” a series of interviews with artisans and artists who are reinventing, surviving, and thriving in the world of craftsmanship.
We’ve added todobarro’s name to an exquisite list of innovation and craftsmanship
With Pedro’s participation in this series, we proudly join a group of interviewees who have presented ideas of all kinds and sizes. From historic firms like Gordiola, a historic family-owned business that has been crafting blown glass pieces for over three hundred years, to artisans relatively unknown outside the Balearic Islands, “Arts and Crafts” has brought beekeepers, restorers, cabinetmakers, cheesemakers, perfumers, and blacksmiths to the Fundación’s space.
Xesc Reina, Julio Alonso, Verónica Mar, Cristina Thió, and Ana Lamata are just a few of the names who have taken the seat that Pedro will occupy to explain the work we do at todobarro and our approach to the practice of craftsmanship within the industrial and commercial context of today’s world.
Neo-craftsmanship, the circular economy, and circular ecology: thriving within the contemporary vision of terracotta
If there is one thing we advocate wherever we go (and no one does so with more passion and conviction than Pedro), it is that the preservation of traditional techniques and methods benefits from innovation—not the other way around. That is why at todobarro we invest in research, development, and experimentation, without ever allowing the master artisans working at the eco-tile workshop to cease being the beating heart of all todobarro’s operations.
This approach allows us not only to optimize artisanal processes without altering traditional techniques, but also to develop a comprehensive circular economy and circular ecology structure around us through which we engage with our environmental and commercial context.
Pedro will discuss this and many other aspects related to our work in neo-craft pottery next Monday. We are very grateful to the Juan March Foundation in Palma for inviting us to participate in this series. Thanks to initiatives like this, we are reaffirmed in our belief in the viability of neo-craftsmanship. There is a growing interest and demand from a public that wants (and deserves) high-quality creations—handmade with care and in a sustainable manner—amidst a commercial landscape dominated by disposable and mass-produced goods.
Admission is free until capacity is reached, and the event will also be broadcast live through the Fundación’s media channels.
