Why are fired clay floors trending? We tell you all about it in ‘AD España’
The leading interior design magazine features todobarro in its article on trends, advantages, and decorating ideas using this material
We are always proud to be featured in the leading interior design magazine, Architectural Digest, in one of its articles. But when the headline reads “terracotta floors are modern”, our joy is complete. At todobarro, we couldn’t agree more with this statement. And we have plenty of reasons to do so.
One of the reasons why terracotta is trending is its character. In a globalized world where mass production is the norm, spaces are identical all over the planet. What’s more, we can see them from our own homes through the infinite window of social media. Given this reality, fired clay floors bring identity and personality to a space. Beyond aesthetic aspects, there is another compelling reason. As AD España rightly points out, it is an absolutely sustainable material.
This is how our founder, Pedro Rosa, explains it in conversation with AD España:
“On the one hand, there is a growing interest in the search for the authentic and traditional, for timeless and natural spaces. On the other hand, there is greater awareness of our planet and how we live on it. In other words, creating spaces in our homes with sustainable materials and vegetation that promote greater comfort and enjoyment of our free time is becoming essential for a certain type of person.”
todobarro, in AD’s Best of Spain selection
Just a year ago, todobarro was featured in the pages of AD Spain. In 2022, our project was chosen alongside 33 other prestigious firms in Architectural Digest’s Best of Spain selection. It was a special edition that brought together arts and crafts to, in their own words, “bring together the most important creators in our country”.
This space celebrated design, interior design, art, architecture, and craftsmanship in Spain. At todobarro, we were thrilled to hear this news, as we were lucky enough to be selected. All this alongside the most relevant brands and studios in the national landscape that we admire.
