We attended the Dubai Design Week with Materio 360
Last November we attended the Design Nexus event in Dubai in the context of the Dubai Design Week
As our colleague and marketing manager Samuel Vega Durán tells us so well, it is not necessary to travel far to know that design and craftsmanship have a direct, almost magical, connection with every person around the world. Last November we went to the Design Nexus event in Dubai, in the context of the Dubai Design Week, invited by our partner and organizer Materio 360.
It was a great privilege to share space with big names in design and interior design in the country. The meeting brought together renowned brands in the sector such as Wolkberg Casting Studios, Stonium, Mutina, COTTO ETRUSCO or ZAVA SRL. We were also able to meet some of the best interior designers in the area, who were also in attendance.
Showcasing the essence of todobarro: craftsmanship, tradition and innovation
In this opportunity, we were able to expose the particularities and the specialty of our handmade clay products. In the context of an area of the world that is transversally crossed by tradition and craftsmanship, but also by technical and technological innovation, we wanted to convey the essence of todobarro: to unite the contemporary with the craftsmanship that keeps history alive, in a world that urgently demands progress based on sustainability.
Dubai is an area that is intimately familiar with the use of terracotta. For thousands of years, the communities that have historically inhabited the area that is today Dubai and the United Arab Emirates in general, have used terracotta. Not only as a purely constructive element, but also as a valued decorative element.
To this day it remains a characteristic feature of traditional Dubai architecture, and we find it increasingly integrated into the modern avant-garde architecture that characterizes the region.
We feel fully recognized in the pottery tradition of the area, and this experience served to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, good practices and the fusion of tradition with technical innovation.
