Shades
Craftsmanship and chromatic richness
Both our production system and our artisanal cooking make every tile and all terracotta shades unique. Each piece is handmade and cooked in traditional ovens, fueled with olive pits and wood from the yearly trim of avocado plantations in the area.
In our catalog we have a wide range of shades that vary from the earthiest, darkest tones like the slate (that might remind us of leather), to the most neutral ones, which doesn’t make them less interesting, like our elegant antique white shade.
Our shades transmit a feeling of naturalness; of being in front of an organic element. Our terracotta tiles have a traditional chromatic range that, combined with an appealing and contemporary design, give place to unique, warm and original tessellations.
Antique effect in the shades
Thanks to our Antique Texture, the colour of our terracotta floors vary with beautiful hues. These appear randomly, and give each tile a singular and authentic look. Unlike any given industrial mass-produced product, our artisanal floors present an uneven chromatism, as well as textures with irregular sides and edges: a consequence of the kind of fuel we use and the placing of the tiles inside the oven.
Each piece has two sides. The A side, more uniform and flat, and the B side, which has bigger irregularities and imperfections, and can provide a richer set of terracotta shades to the ensemble. Every tile can be installed by one side or the other to achieve very different effects. When combining both sides, we achieve a highly appealing surface that reminisces of those we’ve all seen in old houses.
Making old floors from a brand-new, sustainable and ecological product is our signature feature. This aging process is made in an artisanal and controlled environment. Thanks to that, some distinctive features can be accentuated or dimmed at request of the client.
