Bolonia
For Cadiz’ locals (and Cadiz’ lovers), there are few places more special than the Bolonia Dune on the beach of the same name. This natural monument, located in the town of Tarifa, is a mountain of fine sand that can reach thirty meters in height, formed over the Mediterranean low forest by the easterly winds that collide with the end of the cove.
As iconic as the dune itself, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2001, is its characteristic light, almost white, color. As fine as a handful of wheat flour, the sand at Bolonia is a geological rarity in Spain: it is composed mainly of quartz, which gives it that creamy light color with golden hues. Strong winds blow the sand, cleaning it of impurities and giving it that unique texture that makes Bolonia one of the best beaches in our country. Our high-temperature Bolonia clay tone is inspired by this icon of Andalusian geography, creating a product that transports us to this unique place in the world, not only through the delicate golden hue of the clay, but also through the antique texture of its surface, which shares the softness of the dunes on the Cadiz beach.
