Río Tinto
The waters of the Tinto River maintain their independent course until they join the Odiel River to flow into the Atlantic Ocean. It is a narrow little river, barely 100 kilometers long, known for the striking color of its waters, which give the river its name. Throughout its basin, there are mineral deposits and sediments, especially iron sulfide, which stain the waters of the Tinto River with red, coppery, and yellow hues, changing its color depending on the refraction of light and the movement of the water.
This unique location (which has been studied by the scientific community due to its extreme conditions, similar in some respects to those found on Mars) inspired our “Río Tinto” shade from the Tierra collection of high-temperature fired clay. This shade captures the warm, luminous tones of one of the most unique rivers in Andalusia.
