A mural made with terracotta pieces: a collaboration with INKO Cocinas
We have collaborated with INKO Cocinas and Pavistamp for their elegant proposal on the Marbella Design Art fair, with a tableau made of terracotta pieces.
For this project we had two luxury collaborators: INKO Cocinas and Pavistamp. The first, a prestigious kitchen furniture design company, is currently exhibiting at this renowned rendez-vous that brings together the best designers and interior designers in the country. And the latter are our great allies. Pavistamp is a manufacturer of floor and wall tiles that has designed, custom-made for our clay tones, an adhesive and technical mortar for grouting, which is what we have used in the terracotta mural on the wall.
INKO Cocinas presents a proposal called DES-CONEXION. It is a space designed with the Mediterranean as a backdrop, where the spirit of the Mediterranean is transmitted through the materials, colors and layout of the space.
The evocation of the landscape through the stone, the vegetation (there is an olive tree and other native species integrated into the design) and the surfaces is impeccable. And on this occasion, our contribution is not only a clay floor, but also a mural.
The aesthetic value of a terracotta mural in the Mediterranean context
Using the Vélez Bovedilla model, one of our signature collections, we have made a clay mural that occupies one of the walls of the courtyard almost entirely, with the Paja color. For the floor, made with the Rectángulo 22×11, we have chosen the Bolonia color, one of our new high temperature clay finishes. This color, inspired by the sand and dunes of the beaches of Tarifa, fits perfectly with the range of the rest of the space, which is warm and cozy, but soft colors, without stridency.
For the installation we used the adhesive and technical grout that Pavistamp has created for us, and we could not be more impressed with the result. The choice of using a grout material of the same color as the tiles allows for a seamless effect, but avoiding the drawbacks that a seamless installation would present (we always recommend installing our pieces with proper joints).
We especially like this project because using our pieces not only as flooring but also as a clay mural is to vindicate their aesthetic and artistic value. We put as much care and dedication in our designs as we do in all other areas (quality, sustainability, customer service…), and it is very gratifying to see that effort recognized in a proposal as exclusive as this one.
