Casa No Tempo: sustainable materials East of Lisbon
A rental house where tranquillity is the true cornerstone. This is an exciting project carried out East of Lisbon, Portugal.
The best projects are almost always the product of a joint effort, and Casa No Tempo is a great example. The renowned Portuguese architecture studio Aires Mateus designed this rental house developed by the company Silent Living, and they included a key item from our catalogue in their project.
As you can see in the pictures, Casa No Tempo used our Cuadrado 10 clay tile, in a slate colour, for the flooring throughout this magnificent luxury home, located in Sabugueiro, to the East of Lisbon. The main object with the house was to establish the boundaries between the inside and the garden surrounding the house. While the rooms and the patio offer a refuge, doors and windows open to bring light inside and to offer the widest view possible.

Beginning with its name, this is a project designed to transmit the pleasure of natural materials, sustainability, craftsmanship and the exclusivity of the austere. As told by Silent Living on its website: “We always have the chance to elevate what we inherit.” At the Casa no Tempo this is exactly what we did. In alignment with our grandfather’s vision, we continue connecting the stories of the past with what is possible for the future. By doing this, we have left our mark, so that others can experience it”.
The surrounding farm, Herdade no Tempo, not only supplies the family and visitors with exceptional produce, it also reminds us of the deep and precious relationship we must maintain with the earth.
For todobarro this is an iconic project, where our material is exquisitely used and aligned with the other elements, as well as with the concept of the space.
